Pair of alleged thieves arrested in Sarnia

Sarnia police arrested pair of alleged thieves in separate incidents late last week.

On Thursday, September 25 police were called to business on London Road after security had arrested a man for alleged theft.

Police said a 27-year-old man had entered the store and allegedly took a professional grade 70-piece socket set, a high performance LED flashlight, and a rechargeable headlamp valued at just under $400 and placed the items in his backpack.

The suspect paid for a canned drink before leaving, but police said he didn't pay for the items in the bag.

He's charged with theft under $5,000 and breach of probation.

On Friday, September 26 police were called again to a London Road business after security had arrested a man for alleged theft.

It's alleged the 33-year-old man concealed about $200 worth of tolls on his person before exiting without making any effort to pay.

He's charged with theft under $5,000 and breach of probation.

Police said both suspects have each had over 20 interactions with the Sarnia Police Service since October of last year.
