Sarnia Sting tame Wolves in 6-1 win

The Sarnia Sting earned their first win of the OHL season Friday night, defeating the visiting Sudbury Wolves 6-1.

The Sting's Liam Beamish had a goal and an assist in the win in front of 3,172 fans at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.

Ryan Brown, Beckham Edwards, Jordan Bax, Jacob Reese and Ryder Simpson also scored for Sarnia.

Goalie Patrick Quinlan turned aside 27 of 28 shots on net helping secure the club's first win.

"It's absolutely huge. I'm not going to try and hide it, we didn't like what happened last weekend, that wasn't us. So to come and get this win was huge in front of the home fans," said Quinlan in the postgame interview.

Hudson Chitaroni scored the lone goal for Sudbury.

The Sarnia Sting are home again on Sunday to the Flint Firebirds. You can catch the action live on CHOK (103.9FM/1070AM).
