Disturbance at Sarnia shelter results in arrest

A Sarnia woman is facing a long list of charges in connection to several incidents over the last month and a half.

Sarnia police were called by security at the Exmouth Street shelter shortly after 1 a.m. on Wednesday about a woman allegedly threatening to punch people.

It's alleged the woman was asked to leave the property multiple times but refused and became irate with staff.

Responding officers found the 35-year-old woman sitting in the parking lot and arrested her.

Police said Kaitlyn Drexler is charged with two counts of assault, two counts of uttering threats, theft, and breach of probation.

Police claim Drexler was also involved in a disturbance at the shelter on Monday, September 29. It's alleged she threatened violence against staff and uttered racial slurs after being told she was not welcome and asked to leave.

Sarnia police said she is also charged in connection with a retail theft at an Exmouth Street business on August 21.

Since October of last year, the Sarnia Police Service has had 47 interactions with Drexler, including 13 arrests.
