Corunna resident facing child pornography charges

A Corunna resident is facing charges in connection with an internet child exploitation investigation.

Following an investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (CSEU) along with Lambton OPP and members of the OPP Digital Forensics Unit, a search warrant was executed at a Corunna home on Wednesday, October 8.

Police said a number of electronic devices were seized in the search.

Jesse Dowswell, 32, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of child pornography.

They're scheduled to appear in Sarnia court on January 13, 2026.

"As the number of child exploitation cases continues to rise, protecting children is more urgent than ever," said OPP CSEU Detective Staff Sgt. Chris Barkey in a news release. "It is not just a responsibility, it is a moral imperative. Each investigation reflects our unwavering commitment to safeguarding their right to safety and ensuring that offenders are held accountable."

Anyone with information related to online child exploitation can call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
