Public input sought on downtown Forest revitalization project

The Municipality of Lambton Shores is seeking public opinion on a road revitalization project in Forest.

Engineers have come up with a number of options that largely focus on increasing sidewalk space and implementing one-way traffic on King Street West.

Lambton Shores council directed staff to collect public input before finalizing project details after they were presented the renderings.

An open house was held on October 16, but those who were unable to attend are asked to submit input by email to Public Works Director Nick Verhoeven by November 7 at nverhoeven@lambtonshores.ca.

Council endorsed moving forward with the project last October.

The group hopes re-imagining the street will entice more people to stop in downtown Forest, rather than pass by the community along Highway 21.
