Storage barn destroyed in fire

A weekend fire in Sarnia that destroyed a storage barn has been deemed accidental.

Sarnia Fire Rescue responded to the blaze on London Line near Telfer Road shortly before 12 p.m. Saturday.

Firefighters arrived to find the barn fully engulfed in flames, and the blaze had spread to adjacent trees and fields.

Fire officials said suppression crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

The barn and its contents were destroyed and no injuries were reported.

A damage estimate was not immediately available.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
