Man charged following violent Sarnia assault

Sarnia police say an 18-year-old has been charged following a dispute that took a violent turn on Tuesday.

Officers were called to a home on London Road near East Street North shortly after 5 p.m., and found a 64-year-old man with stab wounds to his arm and shoulder. He was treated at Bluewater Health for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said that the suspect, who lives at a neighbouring house, was in an argument with the victim earlier that day over loud noise that was allegedly made by the suspect.

A short time later, the suspect returned to the victim's home. Another argument ensued, and the suspect allegedly pulled a knife.

He is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a dangerous weapon, and two counts of disobeying a court order.

The suspect was remanded into custody following a bail hearing.

The charges have not been proven in court.
