The health unit said at around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4,  the victim was petting a dog in the Pontiac Court Apartment's parking lot near Exmouth Street.

The dog, named Frankie, is described as a brownish/brindle Cane Corso/Mastiff mix and was being walked by its male owner.

If you have any information about the location of the dog and its owner, you're asked to call Lambton Public Health at 519-383-8331 extension 3812, or toll-free at 1-800-667-1839.
