Alessandro Di Iorio scored his second goal of the game, just 45 seconds into overtime Sunday, to lift the Sarnia Sting to a 6-5 win over the visiting North Bay Battalion.
It was Di Iorio's first game back with the Sting (6-8-3-1) since suffering an injury during a pre-season game on September 5.
"Not much of a better feeling you could have," said Di Iorio during the post game news conference. "I mean, we had a really complete game today, our coach is really happy with our play and I think we needed to get a bounce in overtime, and we did. Just to be able to come back do that, it's really special."
Easton Walos, Ben Pickell, Jack Van Volsen and Liam Beamish also scored for the Sting in the win.
Goalie Charlie Larocque made 28 saves in net.
The Sarnia Sting are off until Friday when they travel to Peterborough to face the Petes to kick off a five game road trip.
You can catch the game live on CHOK (103.9FM/1070AM).
