Sarnia Sting forward Easton Walos has been named the Ontario Hockey League's (OHL) rookie of the week.
He scored four goals and added three assists for seven points across three home games.
The Sting beat Owen Sound 6-4 in Wednesday's school day game, lost 5-4 in a shootout to Brampton on Friday, and beat North Bay 6-5 in overtime Sunday.
Walos, a 16-year-old Hartland, Wisconsin native, sits second in Sting scoring with 15 points (including eight goals) over 18 games, good for fourth among OHL rookies.
He was chosen by the Sting in the 11th round of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection from Mount St. Charles Academy.
He spent 2024-25 with the BCHL’s Salmon Arm Silverbacks, and is a prospect for the 2027 NHL Draft.
The Sting hit the road this weekend.
They're in Peterborough on Thursday, Ottawa on Friday, and Kingston on Sunday afternoon.
