Sarnia police to host Cops for Cans

Sarnia police will kick off the holiday season hosting the 14th annual Cops for Cans event on Saturday.

Officers will be stationed at five locations in Sarnia from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. collecting non-perishable food donations for the Inn of the Good Shepherd.

Participating stores include Real Canadian Superstore and Metro on London Road, Kyle's No Frills on Exmouth Street, Walmart on Quinn Drive and Foodland in Bright's Grove.

If you're unsure what to donate, the participating stores will also have pre-packaged donations available for purchase.

Officers will also be accepting monetary donations to purchase items for the Inn.

Last year, 13,678 pounds of food was collected.
