Sarnia Sting trade forward for two draft picks

The Sarnia Sting have traded forward Carter Kostuch to the Sudbury Wolves in exchange for two future draft picks.

The club announced on Saturday that it had acquired a sixth-round pick in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection and a conditional fifth-round pick in 2027.

General Manager Dylan Seca said the move was made with Kostuch’s development and current circumstances in mind.

“We felt this move helps Kostuch get what could be a little more opportunity. He’s gone through a significant injury and has been working through several procedures over the last few weeks, which is why he hasn’t been with the team. When this opportunity came up that allows him to play when he’s ready, we felt it was prudent to support both him and his family," he explained.

Seca added that the draft picks coming back to Sarnia will benefit the Sting in future years.
