The Sarnia Sting lost 6-2 to the visiting Soo Greyhounds in Mathieu Turcotte's debut behind the bench.
The new head coach was hired earlier this week, replacing Alan Letang who was let go after 29 games into the OHL campaign.
The Sting had a two goal lead heading into the second period thanks to goals from Lukas Fishcer and Jack Van Volsen.
The Soo would score six unanswered goals in the second and third frames for the win.
Quinn McKenzie a pair of goals for the Greyhounds. Hunter Solomon, Jordan Charron, Christopher Brown and Noah Laus also found the back of the net.
The Sting were outshsot by Sault Ste. Marie 40-18 in their sixth consecutive loss.
