LCDS launches Giving Tuesday fundraiser

Lambton County Developmental Services (LCDS) is launching a new fundraiser to benefit its residents in Alvinston.

LCDS kicked off the campaign, in partnership with Petrolia based SofSURFACES, to raise $8,000 towards a safer, accessible outdoor space at its Lovell Street residences.

The SofSURFACES cushioned patio will replace hard cement, allowing the residents prone to falls, to enjoy the outdoors safely with comfort.

“Our residents love being outdoors, but the risk of falls can limit their time outside,” said LCDS Executive Director Nick Salaris in a news release. “Outdoor time means connection, joy, and wellbeing. For those who experience falls, this cushioned surface is more than a patio, it’s peace of mind. We’re deeply grateful to SofSURFACES for getting us off to a great start.”

The fundraising initiative will continue through the month of December.

To donate, visit the LCDS website.

Lambton County Developmental Services was founded in 1955 by visionary parents, and has been committed to empowering people with developmental disabilities to live their fullest lives.
