St. Clair Township fire department rescues injured worker from ship

The St. Clair Township Fire Department responded to a rescue of an injured worker onboard a commercial ship in Port Lambton Sunday.

Several crews were called to Southwestern Sales in Port Lambton at around 12:30 p.m.

When on scene, emergency responders used a rescue tower on a ladder truck to get the individual to land from the freighter "MV Saginaw" that was 40 feet away.

The injured person was then taken to a nearby hospital by Chatham-Kent EMS. Their injuries are unknown.

The St. Clair Township Fire Department would like to commend the responding firefighters for their professionalism, cooperation, and commitment to safety during this operation.
