Police are telling us to be extra cautious when it comes to door to door salespeople.
The warning comes after a theft on Hickory Creek Line in Lambton Shores last Wednesday.
According to Lambton OPP, the suspect was posing as a worker providing eavestrough services.
They were invited inside the victim's home and, when the resident briefly left the room, $300 was stolen from their wallet.
The suspect is described as a male, approximately 45 to 55 years old, 5'5" tall.
He was wearing a grey jacket, blue hat, and work boots.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Residents are encouraged to take the following precautions when approached by a door to door salesperson.
Ask for official identification and proof of employment, avoid allowing unknown individuals into your home, take time to verify legitimacy of any unsolicited services, and contact police is something appears suspicious.
