The Sarnia Sting suffered a 3-1 loss to the visiting London Knights in OHL action Sunday.
Alessandro Di Iorio opened the scoring for the Sting in the first period.
"Having a break is huge and getting time to see our families," said Di Iorio in the post game news conference. "I think we had a pretty good game today, just took a period off and it cost us."
Mikhail Zakharov, Jared Woolley, and Cohen Bidgood all scored for London.
The Sting outshot the Knights 35-16 and goalie Patrick Quinlan made 13 saves in net.
"We know where we are and we know we got to turn things around here so, I think just taking it day by day, doing our jobs and see where we go," said Quinlan.
The loss drops the Sarnia Sting to 10-20-4-1 on the season for last place in the West Division.
The Sting will be looking for redemption when they visit the London Knights on New Years Eve. Puck drop is at 4 p.m.
Before the battle of the 402 resumes on Wednesday, the Sting will face the Spirt in Saginaw Tuesday night. The game is set for 7:05 p.m.
