The City of Sarnia had originally closed the compost site on St. Andrew Street for the season and said it will open early next year.
However, with recent weather creating significant fallen brush across the community, the site is reopening briefly.
It will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on:
- Friday, January 2
- Monday, January 5, to Friday, January 9.
The site will be open to accept brush. Real Christmas trees and yard waste can also be dropped off.
Materials will not be available for purchase
The site is open seasonally and allows residents to drop off yard waste and brush free of charge, and also purchase compost, mulch and wood chips during the regular season.
After January 9, the site will reopen for the 2026 season on March 2.
