A collision in Corunna on New Year’s Eve claimed the life of a 20-year-old driver.
According to Lambton County OPP, on December 31 at 10:45 p.m., emergency crews were called to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Bentinck Street.
A vehicle had struck a tree. The 20-year-old driver from Corunna was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Bentinck Street was closed between Cameron Street and Moore Street for several hours to allow for the investigation, but the road has since reopened.
Members of the St. Clair Township Fire Department and Lambton Emergency Medical Services (EMS) also attended the scene.
Lambton OPP continue to investigate with the assistance from the OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who has any potential dash cam or surveillance footage, to contact Lambton County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
