Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for much of southwestern Ontario as several hours of freezing rain are in the forecast.
The weather agency has also issued a yellow warning for Huron, Grey, Perth, and Wellington Counties.
Freezing rain is expected to start Tuesday morning and end by the afternoon, with one to two millimetres of buildup.
Environment Canada says freezing rain may be mixed with snow or ice pellets at times, and is expected to change over to rain as temperatures rise above the freezing mark.
Roads and walkways may become slippery with ice that can be hard to see, and that local utility outages are possible.
