Sarnia man arrested for alleged indecent act

A Sarnia man has been charged after allegedly exposing himself to a woman at a store at London Road and Finch Drive in November.

According to Sarnia police, the victim immediately removed herself from the situation and alerted store staff.

Members of the Sarnia Police Service's Criminal Investigations Division were able to identify a suspect. He was arrested Saturday at a Michigan Avenue home in Point Edward, with help from the Emergency Response Team, Uniform Patrol, and the Identification Branch.

Jason Bento, 28, has been charged with committing an indecent act under the Criminal Code of Canada. He was released on an undertaking with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Anyone who witnesses or experiences suspicious or inappropriate behaviour is encouraged to report it immediately.

Police said prompt reporting plays a vital role in ensuring community safety and supporting successful investigations.
