UPDATE: Fatal crash reported at Blue Water Bridge

Provincial police have confirmed a 60-year-old from London has died in a crash at the Blue Water Bridge.

Point Edward Fire and Rescue, Lambton OPP and Lambton EMS responded to a motor vehicle crash on the westbound Highway 402 at the Canadian toll booths on Wednesday at around 8 a.m.

Emergency responders located one person said to be suffering from life-threatening injuries.

Lambton OPP posted a video to social media at around 2:30 p.m. with an update on the ongoing investigation, confirming one fatality.

"Multiple lanes of the Blue Water Bridge will be closed for a significant amount of time," said Cst. Tyler Campbell. "You can expect major delays while crossing the border as the investigation continues. Lambton OPP is asking anyone with dashcam footage or witnesses to contact us at 1-888-310-1122."

The westbound highway was down to one lane at Front Street until about 8 p.m. Wednesday.
