The province's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate after a suspect was injured while being arrested in a case of intimate partner violence.
Lambton OPP were called to a Corunna home on May 25, 2025 just before 8 p.m.
Police said the suspect was hurt while being taken into custody, but the injuries were not specified.
On December 30, OPP became aware that the individual involved had suffered a serious injury and contacted the SIU.
The investigation is ongoing.
Further details were not immediately available.
The SIU is an independent government agency that investigates the conduct of officials that may have resulted in death, serious injury, sexual assault and/or the discharge of a firearm at a person.
