Marriott re-elected vice chair of Western Ontario Wardens’ Caucus

Lambton County Warden Kevin Marriott will remain as vice chair of the Western Ontario Wardens’ Caucus (WOWC), while Oxford County Warden Marcus Ryan has been elected as the new chair.

The appointment is for a one-year term, effective January 9.

The not-for-profit organization represents 15 municipalities in southwestern Ontario, advocating to upper levels of government to enhance rural and small urban communities.

Ryan said it's an honour to serve as WOWC chair.

“Western Ontario is Ontario’s economic engine, and our region is facing both significant pressures and tremendous opportunity," Ryan said in a statement. "Through a strong, united voice, the WOWC will continue to advocate for strategic investments in housing, infrastructure, workforce development, and the supports needed to address mental health, addictions, and homelessness—ensuring our communities remain strong, competitive, and resilient.”

Marriott was re-elected as vice chair during the organization's annual general meeting. He previously served in the role during the 2025-2026 term with former chair Amy Martin, mayor of Norfolk County.

Meanwhile, Oxford County CAO Ben Addley will serve as secretary, Dufferin County CAO Sonya Pritchard will be treasurer, and Central Huron Mayor Jim Ginn was appointed as chair of the WOWC Economic Development Sub-Committee.

Additionally, Grey County Warden Andrea Matrosovs was named chair of the Western Ontario Municipal Conference for 2026.

“Collaboration will remain central to our work this year,” said Ryan. “By working closely with municipal leaders, senior levels of government, industry, and community partners, the WOWC will continue to advance shared priorities that reflect the realities of our region and deliver tangible outcomes for the people of Western Ontario.”
