Several weapons have been seized after officers were called about a domestic incident at a Sarnia residence.
The Sarnia Police Service said they received a report about a couple arguing on January 14. During a safety check, officers noted no indications of physical violence.
However, police said they received information about guns and weapons allegedly in the home.
After obtaining a search warrant, officers searched the home on January 15 and seized a rifle, ammunition, brass knuckles, and butterfly-style knives.
Police said other weapons were also seized as a matter of public safety.
As a result of the investigation, a 43-year-old Sarnia man was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, careless storage of ammunition and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
