Deadline nearing for BWH Dream Home Lottery

The 31st annual Bluewater Health Foundation Dream Home Lottery draw is just under a month away.

Foundation Executive Director Kathy Alexander said the deadline to get your tickets for the grand prize draw is 11.59 p.m. on February 4.

She said ticket sales for the home are slightly behind last year's pace.

"We have sold just over 60 per cent of our 150,000 tickets available for the lottery this year, that's specific to the dream home tickets," said Alexander. "We're excited that our new dream calendar tickets are actually 97 per cent sold."

Alexander said the 50/50 draw meanwhile is over $215,000 so far.

"Last year's winner took home $279,000 I believe, so we're looking to achieve or beat that for sure," she said.

Over the last 30 years, the annual lottery has helped raise over $10.5 million for Bluewater Health.

"A portion of this year's lottery will support the very important emergency room redevelopment at CEE in Petrolia, and some of the other priority projects in Sarnia," said Alexander. "We are just finalizing our cancer redevelopment program. So, we're hopeful that we'll achieve that before the dream home actually is completed. So very, very important projects that have a huge benefit to our community."

The grand prize home, valued at $1.46 million, is located at 1077 Manhattan Drive in Sarnia's Rapids Parkway subdivision.

The draw will be held on February 19 beginning at 10 a.m.

Tickets can be purchased online through the Bluewater Health Foundation website.
