Sarnia police arrested two impaired drivers early Sunday morning.
Just after 1 a.m., a concerned citizen called 9-1-1 after spotting a vehicle jumping a curb and driving down the sidewalk in the area of Colborne and Berkshire Roads.
It's alleged the male driver was seen by witnesses exiting the vehicle and walking away, while a woman got into the driver's seat and drove into a nearby parking lot.
While officers were looking at the vehicle, the woman approached them and identified herself as the driver.
She allegedly provided two breath samples above the legal limit and was arrested for impaired driving.
Police said the original male driver was not located.
Just after 2 a.m., police saw a vehicle trying to re-enter the roadway after hitting a traffic light at Murphy Road and Wellington Street.
Police said the driver stopped, and he was arrested after showing signs of impairment.
He allegedly provided two breath samples above the legal limit.
Bluewater Power crews were working to repair the traffic lights.
A 21-year-old from Brantford is charged with impaired driving.
In each case, the vehicles were impounded for seven days and the accused's licences were suspended for 90 days.
