LPH issues another vaccination record reminder

Lambton Public Health (LPH) is issuing another reminder to parents who have not provided up to date immunization records or proof of exemption for their children.

About 3,000 students, in both the elementary and secondary system, received notices in early January.

As of January 22, about 2,700 still had to respond by the February 3 deadline.

Suspension notices will be sent out on February 10 for those not in compliance, and the official suspension day is March 10.

Records include immunizations for diphtheria, tetanus, polio, mumps, rubella, measles, meningitis, whooping cough, and chickenpox.

Records can be updated online through LPH's website, by phone at 226-254-8222 or in person at Lambton Public Health at 160 Exmouth Street.

If your child still requires an immunization, you're advised to contact your health care provider or visit Lambton Public Health's website for more information.

Last year, over 440 local students were suspended from school under the Immunization of School Pupils Act.
