Police searching for second suspect in theft investigation

A man has been arrested, and a second suspect remains outstanding in a theft investigation.

Sarnia police say that officers were called to the Kirby Street area around 3:30 p.m. on January 28, for a reported theft in progress, as a witness saw two men acting suspiciously nearby.

One of the males allegedly walked up to the front door of a residence and stole a package off the porch. The witness shouted at them, and they fled into a backyard in the Confederation and Kirby Street area.

Around 3:45 p.m., a Campbell Street resident contacted police to report a man hiding behind her backyard garage.

Police then located a man crouched behind a snowbank at the rear of the property.

A 43-year-old man was arrested. The second suspect remains outstanding.
