Woman arrested on assault charges

A 19-year-old woman has been arrested after an altercation where drinks were reportedly thrown at two people.

Sarnia police said officers were called to the Confederation Street and Emma Street area in response to an assault around 11:50 p.m. on January 30.

Two adults had gone to a convenience store in the area to purchase food when several female suspects, who are unknown to the victims, began berating them from inside a white pickup truck.

Although no threats were made, the truck allegedly followed the victims as they left, and then drink cups were thrown at them.

Shortly after taking the report, police stopped a white pickup truck with occupants matching the suspect’s descriptions. An investigation found the individuals were the ones who had assaulted the victims with cups of fluid earlier.

The driver of the vehicle, a 19-year-old woman, was arrested and is facing two counts of assault and failure to comply with an undertaking.
