A traffic stop for a broken mirror resulted in impaired driving charges for an Innisville man.
A Sarnia police officer on patrol along London Road spotted a pickup truck without a driver's side mirror, and discovered the licence plates were also expired.
The officer initiated a traffic stop, and its alleged the driver nearly stopped on London Road, but then sped up and turned on to Mitton Street, stopping near Terry Fox Park.
Police allege the driver identified himself, but wouldn't provide confirming identification.
A police check revealed the registered owner of the vehicle had outstanding warrants from the South Simcoe Police Service.
The driver was arrested for obstructing police.
At that time the officer detected signs of alcohol consumption, and administered a roadside test which police allege showed him to be two times the legal limit.
The 50-year-old is also charged with obstructing a peace officer and having a blood alcohol level over 80.
In addition he faces multiple charges under the provincial offences act including failing to surrender licence, possessing more than one licence, and driving without a permit.
