Lambton OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 40 at around 7:20 a.m.
Police said the northbound highway between Lasalle Line and Christopher Drive was expected to remain closed for several hours.
Motorists are advised to plan an alternate route.

A wanted man from Walpole Island has been arrested and charged with multiple firearms and drug offences following a crash on St. Anne Island.
The health unit said the incident occurred on the Howard Watson Nature Trail, close to Huron Baptist Church, at around 9 a.m. on February 9.
