Aamjiwnaang First Nation issued a shelter in place for part of the community Friday morning.

As a result, the shelter in place was issued for Zone 10 from 1842 St. Clair Parkway to 1947 St. Clair Parkway, including Marlborough Lane, Virgil Ave, and Chippewa Crescent neighborhoods.

That alert was lifted just before 12 p.m.

The Daycare/School, Community Centre and PSW Services at the Senior’s Complex were also closed for the day.

An updated alert from the Aamjiwnaang First Nation notification system said if residents were experiencing any health effects such as headaches, dizziness, burning eyes or any other symptoms, to reach out to a health care professional.
