Lambton Shores job fair to connect employers with job seekers

Over three dozen employers have registered to participate in the Lambton Shores 2026 job fair on Wednesday, February 18.

Economic Development Coordinator Natalie Core said they really want to connect local employers with people looking for full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions.

"We know there are a lot of businesses in Lambton Shores that are hiring, across all different sectors, and at the same time, there are people in our community that are looking for work, or possibly a career change, or something that's a better fit for them," said Core.

She said the job fair creates a perfect face-to-face opportunity.

"People can have conversations, and make connections, and they can get out and meet employers," Core said. "We have approximately 40 organizations that are registered. So, there will be a lot of opportunities and a lot of different kinds of businesses that will be present."

In addition to the municipality and County of Lambton, the list of employers includes healthcare providers, golf courses, wineries and craft breweries, labour unions, and agricultural companies.

"We always advise to bring a resume and to be ready to have conversations on the spot," Core said. "It's a very low-pressure environment, so it's more about the conversations than a formal interview, but it's a really good way to create a first impression and have that introductory conversation."

Job consultants will also be on site, at the library, helping job seekers with their resume and interview preparation.

"This is the second time we'll be hosting the event," Core said. "Last year was a success and we are building on it, so we are seeing that there are more employers registered for this year's event. We're looking forward to supporting the local economy and we hope there's a good turnout."

The event will be held in Thomas Hall, at the Legacy Centre in Thedford, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
