Charges have been laid after a Sarnia man allegedly challenged patrons outside of a local bar while swinging a baseball bat.
Sarnia police were called to a Devine Street establishment, near Indian Road South, just before 2 a.m. on March 21. It's alleged the accused went to the bar with a knife and a baseball bat.
"This male was challenging other patrons at the bar, stating that he would kill them all," said police in a media release.
No injuries were reported.
A video of the incident was posted to the Sarnia Police Service's YouTube channel.
Police said the encounter stemmed from an earlier altercation between a group of people at a different bar in the downtown area.
A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, causing a disturbance, and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
While police did not find the baseball bat, as seen in the video, officers seized a black-handled paring knife with a six-inch blade that was located behind a tree where the accused stood.
He was released by the courts with conditions.
