The Easter season is upon us, and with that comes lots of family time and togetherness.
On Saturday, April 4, families are invited to hop over to Canatara Park for some free, fun, and exciting Easter activities.
Easter in the Park, in partnership with Seaway Kiwanis, features the annual Easter egg hunt. Participants are reminded to bring their own basket.
The hunt takes place at 10 a.m. with separate areas for children aged four and under alongside those with accessibility needs, five to seven, and eight plus.
"Easter in the Park is more than just the kick off to our annual events lineup, it is such a valued tradition for families in our community, and one we are excited to be hosting for another year," said Recreation Coordinator Rebecca Warren.
The event will also include a visit from the Easter Bunny, balloon twisting, inflatables, Bella Magic shows, Children's Choo Choo Train rides (if the weather permits), and the opportunity to tour the Animal Farm.
A new feature this year, attendees can join the Lambton County Library for storytime with a spring-themed tale or check out a new play area for toddlers.
"So we're excited this year we've added a toddler soft-play area," said Warren. "So, like it has climbing blocks and crawling tunnels, things like that to reach that younger age group."
Sarnia Transit will be offering a shuttle service with regular trips between Canatara Park and Northgate Terminal from 8 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Regular fees will apply.
