Sarnia Police have charged three teens for stealing alcohol from a convenience store on Wednesday.
On April 1, around 12:40 a.m., police were called to a theft that had just occurred at a store on Indian Road South.
Reportedly three young people wearing black hoodies, including two wearing face masks had stolen two cases of alcohol and fled northbound from the store.
Officers attended the area and located two girls in the 800 block of Devine Street wearing all black and carrying cans of alcohol, the same brand reported stolen earlier. The third girl, who was identified as a young person, was found a short distance away.
Police say a review of security footage showed the young girl went to the cash register and spoke to the clerk, in what officers believed was a distraction attempt, while the two masked girls each took a case of alcohol and ran from the store.
The 18-year-old and 19-year-old suspects were charged with theft under $5000, disguise with intent and possession of stolen property.
The 14-year-old, already facing charges for other incidents, was held for bail on an additional charge of theft under $5000.
