Woman charged after allegedly 'threatening to kill everyone' at London Line motel

A 42-year-old woman is facing a list of charges after an incident at a Sarnia motel in which police allege she made threats of violence.

Police were called to the motel on London Line on Wednesday, just after 6:20 p.m.

"An unknown female was reported to be attempting to force her way through a unit door and was threatening to kill everyone inside," police said in a media release issued Thursday.

Officers spotted the woman on a second-floor balcony and she was placed under arrest.

It's alleged the woman became highly agitated, yelling obscenities and drawing the attention of numerous tenants who had gathered in the parking lot due to her behaviour.

Police said there was damage to the door, with clear and visible fresh heel marks.

The locking mechanism, which was recently replaced after a previous incident, had also been broken.

Somer Smith, of no fixed address, was held for bail on charges of mischief under $5,000, two counts of uttering threats, causing a disturbance, disobeying a court order, and three counts of failing to comply with probation.

Police said she was released by the court with conditions.

According to police, since June of 2025, officers have had 26 interactions with Smith, including 11 arrests that resulted in 51 charges (including 21 for breach of probation).
