A man is facing multiple charges after a stabbing in Sarnia.
Police were called to the Indian Road and Devine Street area for reports of a stabbing around 12:45 a.m. on April 21.
When they arrived on scene, officers found a 58-year-old victim with a large gash on his neck. He was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police were told the victim had exchanged words with the suspect, and shortly after walking away, the suspect came from behind and struck him on the neck before taking off.
Police said officers arrested a suspect around 12:51 a.m. at a business on Confederation Street.
James Strydonck, 41, of no fixed address is facing nine charges, including aggravated assault.
Following a bail hearing, he was remanded into custody by the court.
Sarnia police note that since October, this is the 18th interaction they've had with the accused, including five arrests and 30 charges, including 21 for violating his probation.
