Longtime Sarnia 7-Eleven to permanently close

After 40 years at the corner of Christina Street and London Road in Sarnia, 7-Eleven is closing.

The convenience store has posted on its doors that it will be permanently closing on Tuesday, May 26.

Further details surrounding the decision to shutter the store were not immediately available.

The gas station at the site was removed in 2023.

In December 2017, the 7-Eleven at Mitton Street and Wellington Avenue in Sarnia, which also housed a Canada Post outlet, was closed.

According to its website, 7-Eleven, a Japanese based company, operates over 550 stores across Canada.

Highway 402 speed limit set to increase next month

From Waterworks Road to 350 metres east of Colborne Road in Sarnia, and on a short stretch between Highway 401 to White Oak Road in London, the speed limit will be 110 kilometres an hour beginning July 31.
