A 41-year-old man from the London area has been charged for allegedly throwing a rock at the front door of MP Marilyn Gladu’s constituency office in Sarnia.
Sarnia police confirm the incident was reported at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 28.
Police told Sarnia News Today the rock did not appear to break the glass door, but it caused minor scratches.
Employees were in the Finch Drive office at the time, but no injuries were reported.
Police said the suspect, who wore a ski mask at the time, was found at the scene and arrested. He was charged with wearing a disguise with intent and mischief under $5,000.
The accused has since been released from custody.
Gladu has made headlines in recent months after announcing her decision to cross the floor and join Mark Carney's Liberals.
The decision sparked a mixed community reaction, with some calling for her resignation while others supported the decision.
Her office was closed on Friday, May 28. A sign on the door said it was closed due to a security threat and apologized for the inconvenience.
