The Kiwanis Club of Sarnia-Lambton Golden K is supporting youth programming by donating over $4,000 to BGC Sarnia-Lambton.
The club donated $4,000 in April to support BGC's Summer Day Camp program, which is open to those between the ages of four and 12.
Funds raised by volunteering through the Jackpot Time Sarnia Bingo program, run through the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association.
The program allows for a portion of the money raised at Jackpot Time to be donated to a charity or non-profit organization that volunteers at the bingo hall.
The Kiwanis club also obtained a $500 grant from the Kiwanis Foundation of Canada Organized Youth Program on BGC's behalf. The funding was presented to BGC Program Coordinator Hailey Schopf on May 19.
“We are incredibly grateful for the continued generosity and partnership of the Kiwanis Club of Sarnia-Lambton Golden K. Their long-time support of BGC Sarnia-Lambton continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local children and youth," said BGC Executive Director Jaylene Henry. "These funds help provide camp supplies, nutritious snacks, creative programming, and memorable field trip experiences that many children may not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy.”
Since 1971, BGC has strived to provide safe and supportive experiences for children and youth in the community.
