Traffic stop in Corunna leads to drug seizure, trafficking arrest

A month-long drug trafficking investigation has led to charges being laid against a 42-year-old from Milton.

On May 20, members of the Lambton OPP's Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with help from the Middlesex and Brant CSCUs, West Region OPP Canine Unit, and Lambton County OPP uniform members, conducted a traffic stop on St. Clair Parkway.

The OPP said a search warrant was then executed at a residence in Corunna, where officers seized a quantity of suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, Canadian and U.S. currency, and other offence-related property.

The total estimated value of the seizure is over $29,000.

The accused faces three counts of possession of a schedule one substance for purpose of trafficking, obstructing a peace officer and driving while under suspension.

The accused was held for a bail hearing, released from custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on July 8.
