Lambton County and Clean Harbors Canada will hold the first mobile household hazardous waste collection event of the year on Saturday, June 13.
The drop-off event will take place at Lambton College at 1457 London Road in Sarnia, in parking lot 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
"Corrosive, toxic, reactive and flammable materials will be collected at the mobile event," said County of Lambton, Public Works Manager Matt Deline. "These items should never be placed in a regular landfill because they have the potential to injure workers and damage the environment."
Things such as batteries, cleaners, pesticides, pool chemicals, and oils should never be put out on the curb with your regular trash.
Items that are not accepted include commercial, industrial, agricultural, or radioactive wastes, tires, explosives, electronics, asbestos and any containers weighing more than 25kg (55lb).
To help make drop-off faster and easier, please package your waste items in disposable cardboard boxes, bags, or containers if possible.
