New family doctor opens practice in Point Edward

A new family physician has set up in Point Edward and is accepting new patients.

Dr. Olufemi Oyekan has 14 years of clinical experience and trained in the United Kingdom at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital.

He completed a two-year fellowship with Mid and South Essex University, where he focused on geriatric medicine and the complex needs of older adults.

In a letter to Sarnia News Today, Dr. Oyekan said throughout his career he has emphasized continuity of care, preventive health, and supporting patients in making informed decisions about their wellbeing.

The married father of three said he recently relocated to the area to help address the local shortage of family physicians, and is committed to serving the community and improving access to comprehensive family medicine.

Dr. Oyekan is practicing out of the DMI Building on Mara Street.

You can contact his office at 519-312-6761 or 519-461-5590.
