There's now a two way race for the mayor's seat in Plympton-Wyoming.
Tim Wilkins filed his nomination papers on Friday, June 19.
In a post to social media, Wilkins stated he was born and raised in the community.
"This campaign is not about looking backward. It is about looking forward. It is about building trust, ensuring residents feel heard and respected, and creating a stronger future for our community," said Wilkins.
He is running against incumbent Gary Atkinson who previously announced he was running for re-election.
The municipal election is on October 26, and the deadline to file is August 21.
Those interested in seeking a seat on council must be over the age of 18, a Canadian citizen and reside or own property in the municipality they're running in.
