The Lambton College Student Administrative Council will host its first used book sale this weekend.
Varsity Coordinator Tony Frangis said it's hoped the sale, held in support of Lambton College Athletics, will become an annual or semi-annual event.
"We've been looking for different ways to raise funds for our student athlete bursary program," he said. "We're trying to support our student athletes any way we can."
Frangis said they received a lot of support in terms of book donations.
"At one point, in a single afternoon, we had about 1,500 books that were dropped off," he said. "Now that's not a typical hour of donations, but that was a big boost, for sure!"
The book genres range from thriller, history, self-help, and romance. The one thing they will not have are textbooks.
The book sale will kick off on Friday, July 10, in the secondary gymnasium (Room D1-200) at the main campus from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Parking is free.
The book sale will continue Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Frangis said cash, debit, and credit cards will be accepted.
