Stuff the Studio returns to help local students gear up for the school year

Stuff the Studio is back to make sure local students have the tools to start off the school year right.

Blackburn Media - owner of radio stations Big County 103.9, COOL 106.3, and The Fox 99.9 - has teamed up with Lambton College to collect back to school supplies for the Inn of the Good Shepherd.

Blackburn Promotions Coordinator Rachel Jackson said this is the third year for Stuff the Studio.

"We're trying to fill the Forever Furniture truck and then those donations will go to the Inn of the Good Shepherd and they will distribute them," said Jackson. "Pens, pencils, backpacks, calculators, paper, rulers, anything that you needed in school, kids in the community need as well."

Stuff the Studio will be held from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12 at Blackburn Media at 1415 London Road.

Jackson said there's also a barbecue on from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., along with the chance to win some raffle prizes.

"So every donation gets you a ticket into the raffle for your chance to win one of our amazing prizes. There's concert tickets, we have family passes to the Toronto Zoo, Lambton Mall gift card and a gift card for Dairy Queen."

Last year over 730 pounds of school supplies and over $1,800 were collected for the Inn, which handed out backpacks and supplies to over 1,000 local students.
