One person was rescued from inside a garbage truck.
Sarnia Fire and Rescue and Lambton EMS were called just after 6 a.m. Friday about a person trapped inside a waste collection vehicle.
Fire officials said the person was sleeping in a dumpster when it was emptied into the truck, and they fell a considerable distance into the nearly empty hopper.
The individual complained of lower back pain and firefighters quickly entered the truck to conduct a primary assessment of the patient.
The patient was stabilized before being removed through the rear of the truck and taken to Bluewater Health for treatment.
