Suspect sought following daytime stabbing at Sarnia's Centennial Park

Sarnia police are seeking the public's help in locating a suspect in a stabbing at Centennial Park.

Police were called just after 4:30 p.m. Monday to the area of the park near the end of George Street. 

A female victim was located with a non-life threatening wound to the back of her upper arm, and was treated at the scene.

Patrol officers and the Canine Unit conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the male suspect.

He's described as White, 40 to 50 years old, about 5'11" tall, and was wearing long shorts, a dark shirt, and a black baseball cap.

The suspect was last seen heading north towards the train tracks from the Centennial Park gazebo area.

A spokesperson for the Sarnia Police Service told Sarnia News Today an altercation occurred between the suspect and victim immediately before the assault was reported. At this time, investigators have not identified a prior relationship between the two.
